Must have Travel Apps

If you’re anything like me, you sure want to have all the practical information handy way before you land in a new country. And may be even if you have been there before, you certainly didn’t get the chance to see it all that has to be seen. Unless you know the place like the back of your hand, travel apps are always your best friend.

Short of literally packing your bags and rooting out your passport, your phone can support all your travelling needs in one way or the other. So, here’s a list of mobile apps that I thought could come in really handy, and trust me all the apps listed have earned their place by virtue of doing something halfway useful.

Travel list

If you need a little help with packing to make sure that you don’t forget your charger or toothbrush at home, Travel list app is for you. It helps you easily organize the stuff that you’ll be packing in your suitcase. You can also add a reminder for the things that you will be packing at the last minute, so you’re all set before you leave. This app can also help you remind about every stop of your trip and make sure that you don’t miss out on anything. On top of that you can also add events to your calendar or set one-timer on regular alerts.

Flight Track Pro

With more than 3,000 airports and 1,400 airlines, Flight Track Pro has got you covered. With the help of this app, you can manage your international flights with real-time updates using zoom-able maps. And the best part is – flight delays and cancellations are now at your fingertips with this app. It also includes flight alerts, Tripit, terminal maps and weather delays.

Google Maps

I think that all fellow travelers will agree with me when I say Google Maps is one of the best options to explore new places. As, it also provides traffic updates, public transit, city tours with 360-degree views, plus a voice guided and turn-by-turn GPS navigation. These are merely some of the features that this mobile app offers, so that you can navigate like a pro.

Seat Alerts

Gosh! Don’t you just hate it when you realize that the plane to your favorite destination is full or the only available seats are the middle ones? Seat Alerts monitors the available seats until the flight’s departure. So, if a window or aisle seat is available, the app will alert you and you can change the seat once you’re notified. You just have to get in touch with the airline that you’ve booked the ticket with.

Google Translate

Now this app is a life saver when you’re in a foreign land with foreign language. You won’t feel completely lost at your destination if you have Google Translate. You can either use the text box or use the speaking option to translate a phrase. With the help of this app, you can translate 58 languages in text and hear 23 languages worth of converted phrases.

That said, safe travels to wherever you’re headed to.

I really loved the apps that is listed in the post. To be honest I have all of them with me right now. In addition with these travel apps, I would also like to install a game of candy crush to keep my kids busy.
